Who does ImpactMatrix Foundation serve?
We serve American nonprofits of all sizes — especially smaller, rural, and under-resourced organizations — as well as local governments, universities, hospitals, VOADs, and businesses engaged in cross-sector community coordination.
What is the coordination equity gap?
The coordination equity gap is the disparity between large, well-funded organizations that can afford sophisticated coordination software and the majority of American nonprofits that cannot. ImpactMatrix Foundation exists to close this gap by making the ImpactMatrix platform affordable and accessible to all qualifying nonprofits.

How can I donate to ImpactMatrix Foundation?
You can make a one-time or monthly recurring donation at impactmatrixfoundation.org/donate. Donations are processed securely via Stripe and go directly to funding affordable platform access for American nonprofits.
Is ImpactMatrix Foundation a 501(c)(3) nonprofit?
ImpactMatrix Foundation is a public benefit organization with a 501(c)(3) application currently pending. Donors will be notified once tax-exempt status is confirmed. Gifts are tax-deductible to the extent provided by law.
What does my donation fund?
Your donation directly funds subsidized platform access for qualifying American nonprofits. A $50 gift funds one nonprofit's platform access for one month. A $120 gift covers a full quarter of access including onboarding and training. A $5,000 gift contributes to the Tocqueville Civic Project, helping a community earn Smart Community certification.

Yes. Monthly donors can cancel at any time with one click from the link included in every receipt email — no phone calls, no hassle.
Nonprofit Access & Partnerships
How does a nonprofit apply for platform access?
Qualifying American nonprofits can apply for affordable, subsidized platform access at impactmatrixfoundation.org/join. Accepted organizations receive access reported as a donation-in-kind for their financial records.
What qualifies a nonprofit for access?
Qualifying organizations are registered American nonprofits — including 501(c)(3) organizations, VOADs, community foundations, and other public benefit entities — that serve communities in the United States. Organizations apply through the Join the Network form and are reviewed by the Foundation team.
What is a VOAD and why does coordination matter for disaster response?
A VOAD (Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster) is a coalition of nonprofit and voluntary organizations that coordinate disaster response, recovery, and mitigation efforts. Effective VOADs require cross-sector coordination tools to prevent duplicated services, close resource gaps, and ensure every community member is served. ImpactMatrix provides the coordination infrastructure VOADs need.
What is FEMA Annex T?
FEMA Annex T is the Emergency Support Function that covers the coordination of long-term community recovery after disasters. It involves nonprofits, government agencies, and private sector partners working together. ImpactMatrix Foundation's platform supports the coordination layer Annex T requires.

What is Smart Community certification?
Smart Community certification is a recognition awarded to communities that demonstrate robust cross-sector coordination capacity — bringing together nonprofits, local government, business, and civic institutions to effectively serve their residents. The Tocqueville Civic Project helps communities earn this designation through ImpactMatrix Foundation's technical assistance program.
